Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

This recipe, promised to you several weeks ago, has become one of my fall favorites.  It was generously shared with me by my neighbor several years ago.  They smell good and taste good, even the next day!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

2 ½ cups self-rising flour
1 ½ cups sugar
½ Tbsp. ground cloves
½ Tbsp. nutmeg

½ Tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
¾ cup melted butter
3 eggs
1 ½ cups solid packed pumpkin (one small can)
1 ½ cups chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350° .

Mix dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt (all except chocolate chips). Mix butter, eggs (beaten) and pumpkin separately. Combine both mixtures (dry & liquid). Fold in chocolate chips.

Bake for 15 – 20 minutes in muffin tin.
